Determine the effects of TC50 of salt on an organism. Fall Rye Seed
Setting Up :
Setting Up 8 Cups 8 Lids Rye Seed Distilled Water Paper Towel Rounds Salt Measuring Cup
Slide 5:
I set 8 cups up and placed the paper towel rounds in the bottom. I then placed 5 rye seeds in each cup, and added each different salt water concentrations over top the seeds. Methods
Slide 6:
I then covered the seeds with their plastic lids and placed them in to a dark cardboard box. The room remained at a consistent temperature of 72 degrees F.
Results :
Results The seeds remained in the box for 7 days without disturbing them. When it was time for them to come out of the dark this is what I found:
Slide 8:
As each salt water concentration increased the plants did not germinate and grow as well as the ones that had no salt added such as in control cups 1 & 2. Grew Great! 0 Salt Didn’t even germinate! High level of salt water concentration

Conclusion :
Conclusion Salt content greatly affects the growth of plant life depending on its concentration level.
A large amount of salt in a small amount of water can even kill the organism.
