Slide 1:First Comes Love: A Barsoomian Bachelor Challenge
Day 1
Slide 2:“So are you ready to get started?”
Liz sighed dramatically as she pulled out her chair. “Inga, you are way too excited about this.”
“What? What's not to be excited about? A lonely bachelor finding love out here in the mountains. And we get to be a part of it all.”
“Yeah, well, I might be more excited if those mountains were sandy beaches instead. It's freakin' cold outside.” Liz stopped talking long enough to open a couple of folders on the computer. “Alright, you wanted to look over everyone's pictures. Here they are.”
Slide 3:Inga clasped her hands together as she bounced from foot to foot. “They're all just gorgeous. I just know he's going to fall in love with one of them.” Sighing wistfully, she continued. “Even if he didn't want to get married before, I bet he'll change his mind.”
Liz rolled her eyes at her sister's romantic silliness, which earned her a playful punch on the arm when Inga noticed.
“Just pull up their individual pictures. I want to refresh my memory before I do the interview.”
Slide 4:“Fine. First up we have Abby Simpleton.” Liz scanned the spreadsheet that had accompanied the photos. “Says here that she's a Popularity and Family sim from something called Th'a Simple Life by thepieper5.”
As Inga studied the photograph, Liz continued to search the files in search of more information.
“You know, Mom's notes are pretty sparse. Besides her basic stats, all it says is 'not all memories transferred.' What the hell does that mean?”
Inga shrugged. “I guess it means that not all of her memories were transferred. I'm sure Mom had her reasons. Who's next?”
Slide 5:Beth. Beth Bookacy. She's another Popularity sim from The Bookacy Family Alphabet Adventures by katrih83.
“Ooh. I wonder what an 'alphabet adventure' is. It sounds fun.”
“Inga can we move on please?”
Slide 6:“Ooh. I like her sweater.”
“Inga, for Pete's sake. Concentrate.”
“Oh, fine. Who's this then?”
“Notes say Citrine Higarashi from hbcirce's The Geogacy.”
“Is there anything else?”
“Just that she's a Knowledge sim and that her friends and family call her Trini.”
Slide 7:“This is Liv Psuedo. Pleasure sim. I guess she's a pirate or something.”
“She sure doesn't look like a pirate.”
“Well, it says right here, 'A Piractical Legacy' by PurpleBunny.”
“You know, Mom's friends have weird names.”
“Yeah, really. Maybe they're pen names or something.”
Slide 8:“Ooh, is this the one who can't talk?”
“Inga, that sounded really rude.”
“I'm sorry. It's just pretty unusual, you know. Did somebody tell Djor beforehand?”
“Yeah, of course they did. You don't want to spring something like that on a grump like him. Do you want to hear her information or not?”
“Fine. I'm just really curious about her.”
Ignoring her sister, Liz began reading alound. “Moon Walton. Family sim from The Pseudo Legacy by Orikes.”
Slide 9:Liz clicked off Moon's picture before Inga could think of any more questions.
“Next we have Rosemary Joan Legacy, or Rosie according to Mom. She's a Fortune sim from Dicreasy's A Victorian Legacy.”
“A Victorian? Do you think she'll be all proper and stuff?”
“Geez, Inga. I don't know. I'm moving on, okay? We've only got one more to go.”
Slide 10:“Last, we have--”
“Liz, you're supposed to say 'last, but not least.'”
“Are you kidding me, Inga?”
“Wait, doesn't she look familiar?”
“Well if you would shut up and let me tell you who she is, you'd know why she looks familiar.”
Inga leaned over Liz's shoulder and read the information herself. “Wren Trueheart (Pleasure) from PetTech's OWBC. Seriously? That's awesome. We should go say hi.”
A knock on the office door interrupted Inga's thoughts, much to Liz's relief.
Slide 11:The two women watched as Djor strolled over to the couch without saying a word. Inga followed behind him and took her seat in the chair opposite.
“So I guess you're ready for your interview then?”
Djor rolled his shoulders to work out the kinks. “I guess. I'm supposed to come in here after every elimination right?”
Slide 12:Inga nodded. “Well, we do want to get your thoughts on the day while things are fresh in your mind. Do you like the house?”
Djor coughed. “The house? Yeah, it's nice. It could use a basketball court, though.”
“Well, it's too cold outside for basketball anyway.”
“Not for me, it isn't. I like the cold.”
“Really, that's a lucky break then that this show was being filmed up here in the mountains, don't you think?”
A loud cough came from the desk in the back of the room before Djor could comment.
Slide 13:Inga took the hint, though, and turned the conversation back to the bachelor's first day in the house.
Djor shrugged. “I really don't know where to begin.”
Liz waved her hands. “Just start at the beginning of the day, silly. We want to get your thoughts on everything. We'll edit stuff for the show later.”
Djor nodded and took a deep breath before sinking into the cushions and beginning his story.
Slide 14:Well, since my t-shirt had been declared not good enough for TV, I wasn't surprised when the first thing I had to do was change into some new clothes that had been delivered for me.
But other than that, I was pretty much on my own and spent most of the morning wandering around the house and taking a look at the place. The girls weren't scheduled to arrive until around noon or something, so there were a few hours to kill.
Slide 15:Right around noon, a van pulled up outside and dropped off all seven of the girls. I didn't really get nervous until I heard them outside. Peeking through the glass seemed like the best way to get a good look at them before we met. Curiosity got the best of me, you know? I mean, you expect on a show like this for there to be some good looking women, but you never know. Maybe I was worried that it was some big practical joke or something.
Slide 16:I just stood in the doorway and watched them for a little while. It was really weird. Not the girls themselves, just the idea of the whole thing. Here were seven women whose only purpose for being at this house was to compete for me.
After watching them for a while, it hit me that they were probably just as nervous about the whole thing as I was. That had to be the reason why none of them seemed to be anxious to come inside to talk to me. Most of them had paired off and were just chatting away as if the show didn't even exist.
Slide 17:Going out and talking to them probably would have been a good idea, but instead I took the easy way out and played pool. Having them all come to me wasn't really a bad idea, either, so I clinked a few balls around and waited.
Slide 18:Wren came in first. She introduced herself, grabbed a cue, and basically looked like she wanted to wipe the table with me. It was hot.
Slide 19:Only a few minutes had passed before Citrine and Moon came in and joined us. Citrine stumbled over her introduction, which made it pretty obvious that she was feeling as awkward as I was. It was pretty cute, though, and she had a sweet little smile.
Slide 20:Then there was Moon. I had been warned me ahead of time that she was mute, so I wasn't surprised by that. What surprised me was that I knew exactly who she was as soon as she walked into the room.
I mean, when I first heard about her, I figured that I'd end up avoiding her. Not on purpose, but I couldn't figure out how we'd ever get to know each other. But I rethought that plan pretty quickly. She was the most unusual sim I'd ever seen. Well, I mean, Johnny Smith back home is pretty strange looking with all the green, but Moon was also smokin' hot. So there was that too.
Slide 21:So far I had no complaints about my company. We played pool and chatted for a while as if this wasn't the strangest thing any of us had ever done. Glancing around the room, I noticed for the first time that it was still just the four of us inside. As I lined up my shot, I decided that I should at least ask where everyone else was.
“So aren't there supposed to be a few more people around here somewhere?”
For a moment, Citrine looked like she was surprised that I was even speaking to her. “The others are still outside,” she answered in a voice that almost too soft for me to hear. Suddenly her eyes got wide. “I'm sure it's not because they don't want to meet you, though. They're probably just nervous too. I wouldn't let it bother you.”
The idea that I would get my feelings hurt about a few girls not chasing me down and the fact that Citrine seemed so concerned about it made me smile. I didn't want her to think I was laughing at her though, so I just nodded while we continued the game.
Slide 22:The conversation died a little after that, so I watched Moon work her way around the table, sending ball after ball into the pockets. Each time she made a shot, a little smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. Watching her made me forget that I was supposed to be making conversation.
I've played enough pool to know a little bit about how to line up a shot, and I knew that she was doing it all wrong. But it didn't seem to matter. No matter how bad her angles were, each ball found its way into whatever pocket she had called.
When Moon pointed at the eight ball and used her cue to call the corner pocket, I realized that I was going to lose. I crossed my arms and waited. I've never been a good loser.
Almost as soon as the thought had crossed my mind, Moon looked over at me. The corner of her mouth quirked into a half-smile as she took her shot. This time the eight ball bounced lightly off of the bumper.
Slide 23:As soon as the eight ball missed its goal, Wren snorted and rolled her eyes. A look passed between the two of them that ended with Wren smiling wryly and making a hat tip motion with her hand. I appreciate good sarcasm, but I tried to ignore them both as I chalked my cue.
My temper got the best of me when I missed, unfortunately, and I gave the table leg a good kick.
Wren laughed out loud and looked me up and down. “Nice temper tantrum” was all she said as she calmly leaned in and sunk the last ball on the table.
Slide 24:Still having a good smirk at my expense, Wren laid down her cue.
“Anybody want a drink?” she asked. Without waiting for an answer, she fired up the blender. That was when I noticed Citrine. She was practically cringing. Since the blender wasn't that loud, the only explanation I could come up with was that she didn't appreciate my table kicking.
I felt bad for a second, bu decided not to worry about it. My temper isn't going to go away, I thought, so if she doesn't like it, it's probably better for her to realize that now.
Slide 25:Moon interrupted my thoughts with a light tap on my shoulder. After getting my attention, she spun her finger in a circle and made a squishing motion with her hands. Having no idea what she was trying to say made me feel awkward as hell. For a moment, it was like I forgot that I could talk myself and all I could manage was a confused shrug.
Slide 26:The disappointment in her face was hard to see and actually made me worry about her. How was she going to survive this week if she was so tenderhearted? After looking around to make sure we weren't being overheard, I leaned in to get get her attention.
When she finally looked me in the eyes, I made sure to smile at her. “Moon, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I'm just trying to understand you, okay? Give me a little time.”
Slide 27:Her eyes studied mine for a long time before she nodded and smiled. It was obvious that her nod wasn't for me, though. It was more like she'd just come to an important conclusion and was acknowledging it to herself.
As soon as she did, it was like a switch had flipped. She threw out her arms and waved her hands as if to dismiss my apology. Worried about making another mistake, I just stood still and watched her. Apparently that amused her because her shoulders shook a little with silent laughter before she reached out and patted me on the shoulder.
Honestly, there was nothing I could do at that moment but watch in confusion as she turned away and joined some of the others at the bar.
Slide 28:A stiff drink sounded like a great idea at that moment. A couple more of the girls came inside while the rest of us were talking. I should say that it was more like they stalked in. Since they hadn't introduced themselves yet, I had no idea who was who. The cute little red-head walked right past me and snatched a drink off of the bar as if she intended to throw it against the wall. Her brown-haired companion didn't even spare me a glance. She stomped straight into the exercise room, slamming the door behind her.
Slide 29:Citrine watched with wide eyes as the red-head slammed back her drink before walking into the bathroom. It wasn't until I heard her asking “Abby” if she was alright that I learned the red-head's name.
Maybe I should have been a little more concerned, but Moon had come over beside me and I was having too good of a time watching her instead.
Slide 30:Wren surprised me when I finally tore my eyes away from Moon. I guess she'd been standing behind me for a while and she was not happy.
I matched her frown for frown for a minute. I was really getting into what could have been a good stare down when she threw up her hands in exasperation.
“Aren't you even going to go check on her?”
“Who? The red-head?”
“She's got a name, you know.”
“Fine. Abby. Why should I go check on Abby?”
Slide 31:“Because this is your show. You should be trying to help everybody have a good time.”
“Well I didn't know you people would be freaking out on the first day.”
Wren coughed and looked at me like I was a fool. “Have you ever watched reality TV? Just go. I'll go check on Beth.”
“Who the hell is Beth?”
Wren started to say something, but it died in her throat as she just shook her head and pointed toward the exercise room.
Slide 32:“Look, Wren, even if it was my job around here to soothe hurt feelings or whatever her problem is, I'm still not going to do it.”
“Well, why not?”
Wren crossed her arms and gave me a look that could kill. It was at that moment that I realized that she enjoyed a good argument just as much as I did. I still wasn't going to let her win, though.
“Because she's in the bathroom.”
That really should have been the end of it, but instead Wren surprised me by striding over to the bathroom door and giving it a couple of quicks bangs before asking Abby if she was decent. At Abby's confused yes, Wren threw the door open hard enough to make a couple of the girls jump.
“Djor wants to talk to you,” she deadpanned before strolling toward the exercise room.
Slide 33:So I guess what happened next was probably my fault. I was pretty pissed off at Wren when I walked into the bathroom and asked Abby what her problem was. Yeah. I probably could have worded that a little better.
Slide 34:Abby frowned at me for a good long time, but then suddenly she started smiling real sweetly. Let me tell you, the smile was a lie.
“I suppose,” she said, still smiling, “that my problem is you barging in here and yelling at me. Why don't you go think of a way to try and make a worse first impression? Or maybe you're too stupid to be clear about the point of this show.”
Slide 35:Laughing was about the only thing I could do in that moment. Here I am on a show where all these women are supposed to be trying to get me to like them and I've already been yelled at twice on the first day. I guess maybe some guys wouldn't like that, but I found it pretty funny.
And damn if these girls didn't make yelling at me look cute.
“You're alright, Abby. I think you and I are going to get along.”
Slide 36:She gave me a real smile that time, so I assumed that she forgave me. I wanted to tell her that I like the way her eyes krinkled up when she smiled, but I figured that I better save something for the flirting days. Those were going to be hard enough without using up my good material.
Slide 37:Talking in the bathroom was pretty weird, but after we started getting along I didn't care so much. She kind of ruined it for me at the end, though. The girl's sense of humor needs some work. After getting boinked in the nose, I decided that maybe it was time for me to go open up the buffet.
Slide 38:Dinner was pretty silent at first. Coming up with small talk out of the blue has never really been my thing. So we were all just staring and chewing for a little while. I told myself that I was going to be more outgoing for this show, but it's hard to just start doing something that doesn't come naturally.
Slide 39:I think Wren was the first to break the ice. She got everyone else talking about home, but I couldn't get past what she said at first. Who has that many flamingos in their yard? And don't get me started on the gnome thing.
Slide 40:Once the conversation got started, it picked up pretty well. I couldn't stop watching Moon, though. I guess maybe I was worried that she was going to feel left out. She seemed fine with just sitting and listening, though, and occasionally she would nod or smile, so I started to relax a little bit more too.
Slide 41:Liv and Rosemary finally introduced themselves. Curiosity got the best of me and I asked where they had been all afternoon. I didn't get much of an answer, though. Just a smile and a couple of shrugs.
Looking around after that was when it hit me that there was still someone missing.
“Isn't there supposed to be one more of you?”
Liv looked at me a little funny. “One more of us? Like we're cookies in a jar or something?”
Rosemary nearly choked on the bite of salad she'd just swallowed. And I felt like a jerk until I notice that Liv was smiling about it. So she couldn't have been that offended.
Slide 42:Wren stood up and grabbed her plate. “Well, I don't know about you cookies, but this cookie is going to start getting ready for bed. It's been a long day.”
Citrine agreed and grabbed her plate and I watched as they all filed one by one out of the dining room.
Slide 43:Rosemary looked like she might have wanted to stay or to at least say something, but she didn't, and just left with the others.
Slide 44:Moon was the only one who didn't follow. I think she perked up a little once the crowd was gone. Pointing at me, she mouthed the words “you” and “home.” At least that's what I thought she was saying.
“Are you asking me about my home?” When she nodded, I filled her in on my crappy apartment back home, which lead to me talking about my brother.
“Do you have any brothers or sisters?” There were a lot of questions that I had for her and her siblings were pretty low on my curiosity list, but even I knew that asking “how did you get those eyes” or “why can't you talk” would not be a good move.
We talked for a while like that. Well, I talked. She smiled at me when I understood her and wrote out some words for me on the tablecloth with her finger when I was having trouble.
Slide 45:Eventually I noticed that there were voices coming from the rec room and decided that I should probably go in there too. We walked into the room side by side, but as soon as I stopped, she stepped in front of me. For a moment we just stared at each other and suddenly everything felt awkward and tense again.
“Moon, I--”
I have no idea what I was going to say, but it didn't matter anyway. She just shook her head slightly and patted my arm.
Slide 46:All I could do was shake my head. “Moon, I'm sorry. I don't know what the hell you're trying to say.”
I wanted to say more, but Moon had other ideas. She got this little twinkle in her eye and before I could figure out what she was thinking, she was reaching out and tickling me. I don't normally let people tickle me, you know, but I'm not going to pretend that I didn't like it.
Slide 47:After that, the few of us who were still awake just hung out. We played a little kicky ball and talked a little and that was pretty much it until I decided to go to bed. It was pretty casual.
Slide 48:Normally sleeping in new places just kills me, but when I woke up I realized that I hadn't had any trouble at all. That first day might have tired me out more than I thought it would.
It was still early so I took a little time to think about how I had to spend the day. Maybe the fact that I was supposed to send someone home in a few hours should have bothered me, but I can't really say that it did. Honestly, I was more worried about going around and making conversation with everyone. I really don't know why I even got picked for this show. It seems like someone who actually liked talking to people would do a lot better.
Slide 49:But it wasn't somebody else, it was me. So I got dressed and began trying to find everyone. I had no idea what I should say, but I figured that at least asking if they were enjoying themselves so far would be pretty safe territory.
Slide 50:“Oh it's been fine so far, I guess,” Abby replied. “I'm trying to get used to sharing a house with so many people, though. I've never been very good with roommates.”
“So you live on your own back home then?”
“It was just me and my dad for a long time when I was a teenager. Then in college I ended kicking out my roommate, but...”
She trailed off and left her sentence unfinished. “But, what?” I prompted.
“Oh, I don't know. I don't remember much after that. It doesn't matter, I guess.” Her eyes crinkled up as she smiled at me.
“Uh. Yeah, okay. Well, I'll talk to you again later.”
Slide 51:After my talk with Abby, I noticed that a few more girls had come downstairs and I was happy to see Moon with them.
“Good morning, Moon. I thought about you last night.”
Moon crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows at me and I wanted to smack myself in the forehead. That really wasn't what I meant to say.
“I mean, I wondered if you were having a good time with me, or I mean, here, not just with me.” I was making a real mess of the conversation.
Slide 52:Things just got worse when I continued. “I just want to make sure you're not having any trouble or anything.”
That was the wrong thing to say, I suppose. Moon didn't like it anyway. She narrowed those eyes at me and told me that she was “not glass.” At least I'm pretty sure that's what she said. I'm learning to read her lips a little, but it's still hard sometimes. Maybe she told me that I had a “hot ass.”
I tried to smooth things over by apologizing, but I wasn't really that sorry about it. I wasn't trying to be insulting, I just really was concerned about her. Besides, it was good to see that she had some spunk. There's nothing wrong with being nice, I guess, but I don't want a doormat.
Slide 53:My apology did the trick, though. Or maybe she just liked that I admitted I was concerned about her. Either way, I got her to smile at me again before I had to leave her to talk to someone else.
Slide 54:Rosemary was shooting pool as Moon and I were talking, so I walked over and asked if I could interrupt for a minute. She laid down her cue and nodded, but neither of us seemed to know what to say.
I coughed to fill the silence and then asked her if she was enjoying herself.
She shrugged just a little. “It hasn't been unpleasant.”
“Well, that's not exactly a rave review.”
That earned me a level stare. “I meant you no insult. This is just not what I expected, I suppose.”
“Oh. Well, what did you expect?”
“I do not know.”
Slide 55:“Well, if you don't know what you expected, then how can this not be it? Or, well, you know what I mean.”
“I do understand. But I still do not have an answer for you.”
I let the silence hang for a minute, thinking she might say something else, but eventually I just excused myself to move on to the next conversation.
Slide 56:“So, Wren, are you having a good time so far?”
“Sure, Djor. What's not to like? I've got a pool table, a bar, free food, and plenty of free time to enjoy it all.”
“Aren't you forgetting about something?”
“I don't know. Am I?”
“Yeah. Me. The lucky bachelor.”
Wren gave me just a little bit of a smile. “I think we have to wait and see if I'm going to enjoy you or not, lucky bachelor.”
Slide 57:Citrine was working out when I found her. She seemed a little reluctant to stop just to talk to me, but I asked her how she was liking the place anyway.
“It's nice,” was all she replied.
“So, uh, I had a good time shooting pool with you yesterday.”
“Hmm? Oh. Really? That's nice.”
It was pretty clear that she wasn't paying me the least bit of attention.
Slide 58:“So, do you want to get back to your work out or something?”
“Yes, I think I will. Thank you.”
She was already spinning away before I even reached the door.
Slide 59:I admit to being the most curious about Beth since she was the only person I hadn't seen at all the day before. She was outside on the back patio when I found her.
“So have you been hiding from me or what?”
I must have surprised her, judging by the look she gave me. “Hiding? From you?”
“Well, I barely caught a glimpse of you yesterday.”
Slide 60:“Maybe I thought it would be cool if I hung back and let you come to me.”
I couldn't help but laugh. “Maybe that's not the best strategy for a place like this.”
She grinned at me. “Seems to be working okay so far, right?”
Getting a dig in at that was too hard to resist. “I guess you'll find out in a little while. Noon's not too far away.”
She surprised me by laughing. She didn't seem too worried about it either way.
Slide 61:When I stepped back inside, I caught Liv as she was coming down the steps. The girl likes to sleep late I guess, because it was almost noon at that point.
“So what do you think so far, Liv?”
She laughed for a moment. “About what? This place? You? The weather?”
She got me laughing too. She was kind of infectious that way. “Any of it. Except the weather.”
“Really? Because I was going to mention that it's cold.”
Slide 62:“Cute. But seriously, do you like it here so far?”
“Of course I'm having a good time. But I make my own fun. If you're bored, it means you're boring.”
“I'll remember that next time my dad makes me watch golf on TV with him.”
“Well, maybe there are some exceptions.”
Slide 63:I guess that I pushed the conversations right to the wire, because Liv and I were interrupted by the grandfather clock chiming that it was noon.
As the girls gathered in the foyer, I did as I was told and grabbed the extra table and a rose out of the closet and put it in the middle of the room.
Slide 64:Everyone just stared at me for a while, which was pretty awkward. I got over it pretty quickly though since I really just wanted to get this part over with.
“So, here's the deal. Everyday at noon, I'm supposed to pick someone to go home. I guess I'm supposed to pretty it up for the cameras or something because I'll be giving the person I choose this rose.”
Slide 65:I held up the rose and looked around the room. Maybe it would be better for the show if I would have drug out the suspense or something, but I didn't think that was right. So I walked straight over and handed it to the girl who'd be leaving that day.
Slide 66:“Rosemary, I'm sorry. But this rose is for you. I just really didn't get to know you very well and I don't think we've clicked at all.”
Slide 67:She smiled at me as she reached for the flower. “It's okay, Djor. I can't say that I disagree with you.”
I could have probably said something more, but Rosemary didn't seem to need me to. I guess she'd made friends with a couple of the girls, because she turned to say goodbye to some of them and I headed out for my interview.
Slide 68:His story over, Djor closed his eyes for a moment. “That was that, I guess. Are we done here?”
Inga nodded. “Unless there's something else you want to add.”
“Not really. I'd rather just get back inside the house.”
“Anyone in particular you're anxious to see?”
If Inga had really been hoping for an answer, she was sorely disappointed.
Slide 69:It wasn't long after Djor left that Rosemary took her place on the couch for the exit interview. After some pleasantries, Inga got down to her questions.
Slide 70:“So it really looked like you didn't think much of our bachelor. Is that the case?”
Slide 71:Rosemary's eyes widened. “I would not say that at all. I certainly thought he was very attractive. I just had no time to really get to know him. I understood perfectly why he picked me.”
Inga leaned forward. “But why didn't you have time? Other people did.”
Slide 72:Rosemary's spine stiffened just a bit.
“Well, to be quite honest, on the first day I found Liv's company to a real pleasure. We spent a lot of time getting to know one another. I don't regret it.”
“But do you regret not doing more to talk to Djor?”
“I suppose I should say that I do, but I don't know what good regrets would do. The choice was his and results are what they are.”
Slide 73:Inga narrowed her eyes at the interviewee. “So where you come from do you wear like corsets and stuff? Do you feel weird with your knees showing in that skirt?”
Liz stood up from her chair and gave her sister a hard look. “Inga! Good grief.” Turning to Rosemary, she continued, “You don't have to answer that. Your cab's outside if you're ready to go.”
Slide 74:Liz and Inga both walked Rosemary outside. On the way they explained that she would be taken to a house where she would wait out the remainder of the contest. Rosemary seemed content with the arrangements, and soon they were watching the back lights of the taxi disappear down the curvy mountain road.
Slide 75:After walking back into the office, Liz re-took her place at the computer. “Okay, Inga. Mom says there's only one more thing we have to do before we get out of here for the day.”
“We get to look at the scores now don't we?” Inga leaned forward and started hitting keys until Liz slapped her hands away from the keyboard.
“Calm down. The file's right here.”
Moon: 31 / 11 = 42
Abby: 36 / -10 =26
Wren: 17 / 6 = 23
Citrine: 13 / 9 = 22
Liv: 21 / 0 = 21
Beth: 13 / 0 = 13
Rosemary: -1 / 0 = -1
“There. Let's go eat. I'm starving.”
