A process that develops critical thinking and problem–solving skills within the context of understanding the complex interrelationship between natural systems and processes and human beings. Good EE should be: Non-biased and science-based Hands-on Interdisciplinary

Did you know? KACEE was founded in 1969, before the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, and before passage of the Clean Water Act in 1972. Happy 40th Birthday KACEE!!!

Parents Support Teaching Environmental Education in Schools 95% of adults and 96% of parents in the US support Environmental Education being taught in schools (National Report Card on Environmental Knowledge, Attitude and Behaviors, 1997). In Kansas, 94% of those surveyed believe it is important to teach EE in schools (KDHE Survey of General Public, 1998).

KACEE Hosts the Kansas Environmental Education Conference First held in 1999, the conference features: Keynote speakers including Al Batt, Estella Leopold, Chad Pregracke and Cheryl Charles News about state, national, and international trends in EE Outstanding presentations from Kansas educators Field studies and opportunities to network!

KACEE Provides State Leadership in EE KACEE was a leader in developing the first-ever Environmental Education Plan for Kansas and will work on an Environmental Literacy Plan for KS in 2009 KACEE developed the Kansas Online EE Community as the one-stop shop for environmental education in Kansas.
