Why the need to integrate strategies into our lessons? Reading comprehension is fundamental to learning in the subjects we teach. Yet some students experience a breakdown in reading comprehension. So teachers must use different teaching tools to improve student comprehension.

Analogy Charting Steps Determine what students already know. Select a familiar concept to be introduced. Introduce an Analogy Chart and provide copies for students to complete. Have them write down similarities. Ask students to brainstorm how the new concepts are different.
