For years 1996-1998, when Hari Raya Puasa and Chinese New Year coincided, a slogan Kongsi Raya, a combination of Gong Xi Fa Cai, a greeting used on the Chinese New Year, and Hari Raya (which could also mean "celebrating together" in Malay language) was coined.
For years 2005-2006, the Hari Raya Puasa and Deepavali coincide, and a slogan Deepa Raya is similarly coined.

advantages It is the main tourist attraction because this unique Malaysian culture of combining festivals can only be found in Malaysia.
This Malaysia culture has not only enabled all Malaysians to understand and know more about one another, it has also enhanced the relationship between all Malaysians despite their difference in races and religions.

advantages It is a “platform” for cultural interactions whereby similarities can be found in the festivals that are celebrated without losing the originality of the respective festivals.
This also supports the government’s
‘1 Malaysia’ concept in striving for and sustaining unity.
