His introduction of the Model T automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry. The Ford Model T : The Ford Model T The Ford Model T is an automobile that was produced by Henry Ford's Ford Motor Company from 1908 through 1927. The Model T set 1908 as the historic year that the automobile came into popular usage. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car that "put America on wheels" The Assembly Line : The Assembly Line An assembly line is a manufacturing process in which parts are added to a product in a sequential manner using optimally planned logistics to create a finished product much faster than with handcrafting-type methods. The assembly line developed by Ford Motor Company between 1908 and 1915 made assembly lines famous in the following decade through the social ramifications of mass production, such as the affordability of the Ford Model T and the introduction of high wages for Ford workers. Henry Ford was the first to master the assembly line and was able to improve other aspects of industry by doing so. The Advantages and Disadvantages of the automobile : The Advantages and Disadvantages of the automobile The advantages of the automobile were that it allowed people to live in suburbs and drive into the city for work. Another advantage of the automobile was that it allowed people to get to places faster, quicker and more efficiently. The disadvantages of the automobile were that the automobiles that were made in the 1920’s were like little Sherman tanks driving down the street because the automobile was made out of all steel. Another disadvantage of the automobile was that there were no rules of the road so there were a lot of accidents and deaths because people would cross the road and get hit by cars. The prosperity of the automobile : The prosperity of the automobile The production of the automobile made many industries prosperous such as the steel, rubber, glass, and oil industries. All of these industries became prosperous because the automobile need all of these materials to make the automobile run. The Assembly Line Prosperity : The Assembly Line Prosperity The assembly line allowed for mass production in the ford automobile plant. If the plant made more cars then there were more cars for people to buy. The Assembly line affecting the future : The Assembly line affecting the future The assembly line was first introduced by Henry Ford in The Ford Automobile Plant but now it is used in factories that produce things that we use every day like food products, cell phones, computers, shoes, jewelry, and many more. Cars produced in 1920 compared to now : Cars produced in 1920 compared to now By 1927 Ford had sold over 15000000 Model T cars. In 2007 Ford sold 2.4 million automobiles.
