Germany starting WWII:

Germany starting WWII Invaded Poland on September 1, 1939 Were ready for war, unlike they had been in WWI Wanted revenge from WWI because they had accepted blame Secretly built up army, weapons, and other things to prepare

Italy Joining:

Italy Joining Italy stayed neutral for ten months after Germany invaded Poland Entered the war on June 10, 1940, by invading France Also declared war on both France and Great Britain Signed Tripartite Pact to become an Axis Power

Tripartite Pact:

Tripartite Pact Signed in Berlin, Germany September 27 th , 1940 Japan, Germany, and Italy signed, forming Axis powers (opposed by Allied) Purpose: Japan, Italy, and Germany agreed to help each other if attacked.

German and Italian Alliance:

German and Italian Alliance Axis powers alliance on paper Didn’t work well together Fought together sometimes Italians mainly caused problems for Germany Italy was inferior, Germany took credit Italy had worse and less weapons
