Roosevelt, known popularly as FDR, was a 2-term governor of New York. FDR was a distant cousin of Teddy Roosevelt. The Democrats also won huge victories in the house and senate. Franklin D. Roosevelt

FDR’s Personal Qualities He was a practical politician who practiced the art of the possible. He was a charismatic person who exhibited a warmth and understanding of people. He knew how to handle press by focusing attention on Washington. He provided dynamic leadership in a time of crisis. He was willing to experiment.

Why is 1932 so Important? It moves the government permanently away from total laissez-faire. FDR’s active government programs are going to begin a trend of the government trying to fix of help fix people’s problems. I’M NOW HANDS ON
