X and Y intercepts:

X and Y intercepts By: Andrew Kennedy

X intercepts:

X intercepts The equation is 3x+2y=1 First, you replace the y with a zero. Then you get the x alone. Finally you do the reciprocal of the x onto the other side. 3x+2y=1 3x+2(0)=1 3x=1 (1/3)3x=1(1/3) X=1/3 (1/3,0)

Y intercepts:

Y intercepts The equation is 3x+2y=4 First, you replace the x with zero. Then, you get the x by its self. Finally you get the reciprocal of the y and other number, in this case 4. 3x+2y=4 3(0)+2y=4 2y=4 (1/2)2y=4(1/2) Y=2 (0,2)
