We raise our hands to speak. We respect each other. We help our classmates. We do not bully We do our class work and homework. We keep the room clean. We walk in the classroom. Consequences for Breaking a Rule : Consequences for Breaking a Rule Check-mark System 1. Verbal Warning for the 1st offense 2. Name = lose half recess 3. Name = lose all recess 4. Name = phone call or note to parent Note: If you do not do your homework, you will stay in for recess until your homework is done. Movie Party for Good Class Behavior: : Movie Party for Good Class Behavior: When the class stays on task and does a good job, you will earn movie tickets. When the class earns 20 movie tickets, we will have a movie party at lunch. CLASS PROCEDURES : CLASS PROCEDURES Agenda Book and Homework Folder: : Agenda Book and Homework Folder: Every day, you will write your assignments down in your agenda book. Your teachers will initial your book, and you will take it home for your parent to sign and review. You will also be given a homework folder to keep your assignments in. Homework Reward: : Homework Reward: If all of your homework is done at the homework check time, you will earn a sticker on your homework chart. After 10 stickers, you may pick a day on the calendar to sign up to play the Nintendo Wii at Recess. Two students can sign up for the same day. Arriving to Class: : Arriving to Class: Take your seat. Get out your homework. Wait quietly for the teacher to check your homework. Sharpen your pencil before class begins. Use the restroom before class begins. Using the Bathroom: : Using the Bathroom: Use the bathroom before class begins. If it is an emergency, you may use the bathroom during class. You do not need to ask the teacher for permission to go to the bathroom . Knock before you enter. Turn the bathroom sign to red. Flush the toilet and wash your hands when you are finished. Turn the bathroom sign back to green. Using Class Materials: : Using Class Materials: Paper Markers/Crayons/Colored Pencils Scissors Rulers Calculators Dictionaries Electronic Dictionaries/Thesaurus * You may use any of these materials. Remember to put these materials back neatly when you are finished. How to put your name on your paper: : How to put your name on your paper: Put your first and last name on all of your papers. 2. Put the date at the top of your paper. How to turn in your work: : How to turn in your work: When your work is complete, make sure that you have your name and date on your paper. Put your work in the correct student work bin. We have 3 work bins: - Spelling - Reading/English - Math Student Mailboxes: : Student Mailboxes: Everyone has a student mailbox. This is where we keep your papers after they have been handed in and corrected. Your work is placed in the cubby below your name. Take Home Folders: : Take Home Folders: Once a week, we will collect your papers from your mailbox and put them in your “Important Papers “ folder. Your job is to take your folder home, review your work with your parent, and have your parent sign your folder. Bring your folder back to school the next school day. Lining up and walking in the hall: : Lining up and walking in the hall: Line up in a straight line. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Walk quietly down the hall. Keep to the right and stay with the group. Be respectful. Do not distract other students or classrooms. While waiting to enter a classroom remain outside the designated area at the doorway. Do not touch student displays, papers, or art work. Procedures for a Fire Drill: : Procedures for a Fire Drill: Immediately stop what you are doing. Walk to the door and line up in a straight line. Wait for the teacher to signal you to go. Turn left out the door, walk down the steps, and exit through the door on the left. We will stand in a quiet, straight line until we are called back into the building. CLASS JOBS : CLASS JOBS Classroom Jobs : Classroom Jobs Paper Passer Wilson Trays Dry Erase Boards Markers Erasers Note: Classroom jobs will be switched at the beginning of each week. CLASS LIBRARY : CLASS LIBRARY Classroom Library : Classroom Library We have a leveled classroom library. Blue = Level 1 & 2 Yellow = Level 3 Green = Level 4 Red = Level 5+ 2. When selecting a book make sure the book is at your reading level. (Ask for the teacher’s help.) 3. When you are finished reading a book, put the book back in the correct colored bin. 4. You may sign out a book to take home to read. Just make sure you sign the book back in when you return it. GRADING SCALE : GRADING SCALE Grading : Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points. Points are based on: Homework Class work Quizzes Tests Projects Grades are posted on Power School. I will print your grades for you upon request. Our Grading Scale A: 90-100 B: 80-89 C: 70-79 D: 60-69 E: 59 and below HOMEWORK : HOMEWORK Your Homework: : Your Homework: Directions: Read over the classroom handbook with your parent(s).
