Then it fades to long panning shot of a busy Notting hill market and there is a voice over spoken by Hugh Grant who plays William Thacker and then there is a shot of him walking towards his house. the main thing I like about this opening sequences is the voice over they have used because it helps the viewer understand what the film is about and is different to a lot of opening sequences which just have music. Also I like that the opening sequence goes from having no dialogue and just being sound by quite music and then you get thrown straight into the noisy of a market. If I was to use one thing of this opening sequence I might use a voice over Slide 2: Madagascar is an animated film that stars Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith. At the beginning of the film there is loud music that sounds like it is being sung by a choir. Also there is a collection of long shots of Marty who is voiced by Chris Rock and then the title fades onto the screen and then fades out. Then there is the names of the cast one after the other in the bottom part of the screen and they are in red yellow and orange which I liked because I through it was very in keeping with the theme of the film . In the opening scene I also like they used the use of music to distinguish between the two very different locations when I make my opening scene I would like to use different music to help set the scene. Then the music shapely cuts out and the two of the main characters Marty and Alex have a few line of speech when they are having their conversation there is a few over the shoulder shots. The main thing I like with this opening scene was the way they used music to instantly change the mood of the scene Slide 3: Mamma mia opening scene starts with a long shot of a boat on the sea and all the picture is in dark shades and there is a shadow of the boat and there is quite music playing in the background then the shot of the boat pans upwards and then you see the outline of an island and you can see small lights in the distance. Then it cuts to one of the main characters Sophie Sheridan who is played by Amanda Sheridan and then the music fades out and there is a few lines of speech. through out the whole first half of the opening scene the colour are very dark which I like because it adds an air of mystery to the scene. Then the scene cuts to three different locations very quickly one after the other and there is a fast tempo piece of music in the background with no vocal I like the way that they have used use of colour and music to set the scene at the beginning. I also like how the cut between three different locations very quickly but keep the same music. if I took one thing to use in my own opening sequence from this it would be their use of many different locations because it made the scene different and interesting to watch also I like the way that they have used use of colour and music to set the scene at the beginning. I also like how the cut between three different locations very quickly but keep the same music. Slide 4: The opening scene to 102 Dalmatians starts with opening titles which is the cast names swirling around in Dalmatians spots and there are shots of Dalmatians and there is an up-tempo piece of music in the background. Then the music suddenly stops and there is a shot of a door slamming and you see a shadow of two men then the colour brightens. the main things i like about this opening sequence is that there are opening titles before you see any the film. Also I like the fist camera shot that was used at the beginning because you saw the peoples shadows. Even though I like this opening sequence I would not choice to use anything from it because the opening titles are two long and you don’t see enough of the actual film. Slide 5: The opening sequence of Marley and me starts with a shot of a dog and a boy running through a field and there is quite music playing in the background and then there is a voice over spoken by Owen Wilson who plays john in the film the there is a low angled sot of a dog jumping over a fence and then loud music starts and then john goes chasing the dog down a road and there is a shot of them running away. The main things I like about this opening sequence is the use of music to set the scene because I like the way the music matches the mood of the music. If I chose to use one thing from this opening sequence it would be the use matching music to the mood of the scene. Slide 6: The opening sequence in daddy day care starts with a wide shot of a house then it cuts to a mid shot of Ben who is played by khamani Griffn lying in bed and then it cuts to a close up of his feet putting his slippers on then there is a shot of him walking towards the camera. There is up beat music on in the background and the titles are fading on and off the screen the titles of in bright colours which matches the mood of the film. The main things I like about the opening scene of daddy day care is the way the opening titles match the mood of the film. Even though I like the opening titles of daddy day care I would not use any of thinks in my opening sequence. Slide 7: Twilights opening sequence starts with a crane shot of a deer with quite music in the background then it cuts to a point of view shot and you see the deer running as if someone is chasing it and the music become much faster and then you see Edward who is played by Robert Patterson and then deer collides and then there is a bright light and fades to a mid shot of Bella who is played by Kristen Stewart and she is sitting on the top of a hill. The main thing that I like about twilights opening sequence is the use of a long point of view shot because it makes it interesting to watch. Also I like that there is not much sound accept quite music. If took one thing from twilights opening sequence to use in my own opening sequence I would use an point of view shot because it looked effective in this opening sequence. Slide 8: 27 dresses opening sequence starts with an establishing wide shot of a wedding and then there are a range of close ups of people at the wedding and there is quite music in the background and there is a voice over spoken by Katherine Heigl who plays Jane. then there is a shot of the bride walking up the isle the shot is a mid shot. Then the screen fades to black and then there is a close of Jane standing in a wedding dress. In the opening sequence of 27 dresses I like the way that their way not dialogue except the voice over. Also I like that they used a panning wide shot even though the location was inside. If I used on thing from the 27 dresses open sequence in my own opening sequences I would use the use of a voice over Slide 9: The opening scene of Johny English starts with a close up of Johny English face who is played by rowan Atkinson then it cuts to a shot of him running away from the camera then it cuts to a long shot of a building with Johny English still running away then it cuts to a long shot of him running up a flight of stairs. During these cameras shot there is a fast pace music playing and the colours are dark. I Like the way that the music that is in the background fits the style of the scene. Also I like the range of shots they use because it make the scene interesting to watch. Also I like how the colour is dark because it fits the style of the opening scene. In my opening sequence I would like to use the same kind of range of camera shot as they have done in Johnny English opening sequence I would like to do this because I think it would make my opening sequences more interesting to watch Slide 10: The opening sequence of Harry potter it starts with a panning crane shot of built up streets . Then it cuts to shot of Harry played by Daniel Radcliff standing looking down at his shadow this shot it a high angled shot looking down. Then it fades to a shot of Harry sitting on a swing the colour in these shot is very bright. Then there are a few lines of dialogue between Harry and Dudley where shot reverse shot is used. Then the colour of the picture goes dark and there is a shot looking down on Harry and Dudley looking up at the sky. The main thing I liked about this opening sequences is the way that they used a change in picture colour to distinguish between different parts of the scene. Also I like that there is music and background noise in the scene. If I was to use one thing in my opening sequence from this opening sequence it would be the use of a wide range of camera shots because it made the scene more interesting to watch.
