Presentation Description

The author has developed a low cost smokeless biomass cook stove with chimney for community cooking of food for children in residential schools of Odisha, India. It is saving firewood nearly 30% and cooking is carried out in complete smokeless environment, which helps reduction of health hazards of children & cooks in schools. This stove is being is adopted by different departments of Govt. of Odisha, India for community cooking in schools, barracks, jails etc.

Other Improved cook stoves invented by S.Khuntia & utilized in NPIC of MNRE, Govt. of India during 1998 to 2003 “ Harsha ” multifuel portable stoves ( Family & Community) Fixed chulhas with chimney (SK-1, SK-2, SK-3, SK-4, SK-Agni, SK- Delux etc ) All stoves propagated by OREDA, Govt. of Odisha under NPIC during 1990 to 2003 in Odisha . More than 3.0 million units of above design cook stoves disseminated in different parts of India. OREDA had disseminated more than 1.5 million units of above stoves in Odisha .
