WHO Proposed Terms of Reference King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre – Riyadh is now a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on e-Health for the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) to be effective for a period of four years renewable in January 2014. “Either party (WHO or KFSH&RC) may however revoke the designation in any year.” In order to promote this prestigious designation for KFSH&RC several objectives require implementation. The objectives are as follows:

No Objective R1 Organize Symposia (medical and non-medical) for nationals, regional and international audience on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, annual, etc). R2 Conduct workshops (medical and non-medical) for nationals and regional participants in different aspects of e-health and telemedicine applications on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, annual, etc) R3 The Centre will organize, arrange and execute training programs in collaborating with WHO in the Hub of Centre annually. R4 The Centre will establish telemedicine and e-health networks for consultations in collaboration with WHO members. R5 The Centre will launch periodical awareness programs to enhance the use of electronic applications for healthcare provision. R6 The Centre will promote the usage of e-health and telemedicine applications to all medical-allied workers in the regions. R7 The Centre will be a research Centre for the Telemedicine and e-health applications. R8 The Centre will complete the already started eICU project within the Kingdom, will collaborate with WHO to give any technical and administrative consultations to any similar project in the region in the future. R9 The Centre will give consultation for developing e-Health legislations with WHO for the regions. R10 The Center will give consultation to develop standardized e-health information data management in collaboration with WHO for any WHO members
