Connections to Your Course:

Connections to Your Course EEX 4070 Adapting the learning environment-Student attitudes and self-esteem, social skills, students with low-incidence disabilities, students with high-incidence. A student can read all the books in the world about children with disabilities but not compares to going out in the community and actually working and helping with children with disabilities. Advocating Awareness

Civic Engagement:

Civic Engagement Importance of being active in community Better understanding for people in my community and the organizations that are there that need help. It is no longer about yourself, its about other people and their needs. I would encourage teachers and students to embrace service learning. A person becomes more aware of other people, not just people with disabilities or people without disabilities. I want to volunteer for the Special Olympics after this project.

Final Thoughts & Reflections:

Final Thoughts & Reflections I would tell people about the Special Olympics, what they do and how they can help. Teachers can be the connection between academic topics and community programs for parents and students.
