Deployment Relationship Survival Skills – Personal Resiliency Plan

Resiliency:

Resiliency Resiliency is the ability to bounce back. When it comes to deployment, resiliency is the ability to handle the stress that comes along with a deployment and continue handling daily routines. Having an intentional plan for resiliency greatly increases your chance of successfully dealing with deployment stress.

The Resiliency Plan:

The Resiliency Plan You need an intentional plan to process the stress. You need a stress relieving activity. You need accountability.

Intentional Plan:

Intentional Plan “If you aim at nothing, you are sure to hit it every time.” How will you process the build up of stress? Suggestions: Journal Talk with people Pray

Stress Relieving Activity:

Stress Relieving Activity It is best to have several activities pre-planned to help you deal with deployment stress. Suggestions: Reading A hobby that you intentionally make time for (scrapbooking, woodworking, drawing, etc.) Going out regularly with friends Regular exercise

Accountability:

Accountability Write out your resiliency plan and then share it with two or three people. Tell them why you are sharing it with them. Ask them to check on you from time to time to make sure you are following it.
