What is Speech? : 

What is Speech? Speech is a Minnesota State High School League activity in which students in grades 6-12 compete against other students in 13 speaking categories. Speech is an activity in which students develop lifelong communication skills in a team environment. Coach Keller Coach Christiansen

Original Oratory, Informative, & Great Speeches: Write and perform your own speech, which should persuade, inform, or analyze, respectively. Extemporaneous Speaking:Prepare and perform an impromptu speech on current events. Discussion:Analyze and discuss the year’s topic with five to seven other competitors. Creative Expression:Write and perform your own creative work, serious or humorous. Extemporaneous Reading & Storytelling:Prepare and perform your interpretation of a serious prose story or a world folktale.  Serious Drama, Prose, & Poetry Interpretation:Choose and perform your interpretation of a serious work of literature. Duo Interpretation: Choose and perform a published work, serious or humorous, with a partner. Humorous Interpretation: Choose and perform a comedic piece of literature. :
