Sentence Patterns : 

Sentence Patterns There are 20 basic patterns which writers frequently use to give their style flair and variety.

Abbreviations : 

Abbreviations We will use these abbreviations when discussing sentence patterns: S = Subject V = Verb C = Connector (conjunction O = Object (preposition or infinitive) M = Modifier IO = Indirect Object OC = Object Complement DO = Direct Object
