A Reflection Striving to achieve in Teaching with Technology Kelly Ann Connolly

The entire class deserves a round of applause! We are all pioneers of moodle, and some of us will always be digital immigrants in a sea of digital natives!

My experience in this class so far? Beginning of the class- Frustration, exhaustion and a sense of being overwhelmed! The Second week and up until today- A little less anxiety, and a new sense of discovery about what I am learning!

What have I learned so far? How to create a Website. How to create a blog. How to create a wiki. Link any picture, video or audio clip. Social networking. Not to be afraid of technology, but embrace what is has to offer. School is becoming “The School of the Digital Age, “ (2.0) and as educators we must strive to meet the needs of our students! Just to name a few!

How will apply what I have learned to my life and my professional practice? I will continue to keep up with many of the resources I have learned about, as a parent and a teacher. We owe it to our students to engage them in the way that they can master material we present to them. I will continue to keep up my wiki page and my website as a classroom teacher.

Having to explain the course to someone else? “It is a course designed to make everything about the computer easier for you. It will be intense and frustrating, but if you stick with it and see the outcome of your efforts it will be well worth it. It will give any teacher the opportunity to understand fully what type of technology exists and how to engage our students by using it!” Kelly Ann Connolly

How do I feel about this class? I feel as though I need more time to complete the assignments. I feel that I have come a long way! I wanted to give up a couple of times, but by sticking out I have learned more than I thought was possible!

What is good about this class? It is an opportunity to learn things that you might otherwise not bother trying. A great way to work collaboratively with you groups. It prepares you for what lies ahead in the 2.0 classroom.

What would I change about this course? I would like to see the agenda posted sooner. The class assignments mapped out in full early on, without any additions.
