Host Setting Organization: Teachers In Action UCF students and UCP Service Learning opportunities $570,000 grant (3 years) Serves all age ranges of persons with disabilities Location: Loch Haven Park Neighborhood Center (Downtown Orlando) Date of Event: Saturday, October 30, 2010 10am – 3pm

Engagement Activities : 

Engagement Activities Purpose of event: Safe and fun event for students with or without disabilities Preparation Candy Drive, advertisement, set up, and tear down

Engagement Activities, cont. Welcome booth: Greeting guests, sign-in, party bags Activities & items provided: Games, face-painting, decorations, prizes, candy, balloons

Participant Demographics : 

Participant Demographics 350+ participants Ages: preschoolers- adults Diverse ethnicities, linguistic heritages, and economic statuses Types of disabilities: autism, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and other cognitive and physical disabilities We integrated both students with and without disabilities “in extracurricular services and activities to the maximum extent appropriate to the needs of that child.” (IDEA, 300.117: nonacademic settings).
