What is Reader’s Theater?? Staged reading of scripts that are based on a work of literature Emphasis on the text Limited movement, no costumes, no props

Why Reader’s Theater?:

Why Reader’s Theater? Increase Reading fluency Increased comprehension of the text Building Vocabulary Improved public speaking skills Increased self-confidence Exposing students to different genres

1st Quarter:

1 st Quarter 2 Scripts: The True Story of the Three Little Pigs based on the book by Jon Sciezka and The Three Little Pigs based on the book by James Marshall Practicing – working on Fluency Voice Wiggling Expression

1st Quarter:

1 st Quarter Writing component: - created a Venn diagram comparing the two versions of the 3 Little Pigs that we used. - Wrote a five paragraph comparison essay
