“Let the smell of wildflowers… … Flow free through my blood.” Heather:“Calluna Vulgaris”, from the Greek “Kallune” (meaning to clean or brush), from the Latin “Vulgaris” (meaning common) It is used for treating arthritis, rheumatism, and anxiety and to make pottery, brooms, ropes, dyes, perfume soaps, potpourris, cosmetics, malts, and ale! It’s rumored to grow on the resting place of fairies, where no blood has shed. Queen Victoria introduced carrying it in weddings for good luck. The bark is stronger than that of any other tree or shrub. The lavender color reflects adoration. The white color reflects luck and eternal love, particularly for its scarcity. It’s also known to have protective powers. I am a Heather! The legendary honor and luck flow through my blood!
