What’s in your toolbox? :

What’s in your toolbox?

Slide 2:

The world never stays the same. People around us change. We come up against new things every day.

Slide 3:

Our personal toolkit needs to be well-stocked to cope with all these changes.

Slide 4:

But the brain is lazy. It will try and get away with using one tool for every job.

Slide 5:

We may think we’ve got a strong personality. But that personality can make us a one-tool person. Like a tool box with only hammers in it.

Slide 6:

And when all you’ve got is hammers, everything in life looks like a nail.

Slide 7:

But life is full of things for which a hammer won’t work. When we come up against them we get stressed.

Slide 8:

To make the most of life we need a toolbox of behaviours to cope with anything.

Slide 9:

When we let go of the habits and beliefs that limit us, we can adapt to anything.

Slide 10:

When we are flexible, we cope with the changes in others too. We can yield without getting angry or anxious.

Slide 11:

Life gets better and more enjoyable.
