The working principle is similar to climbing vertical Coconut or Palm tree. Hence, these jacks can be called as Monkey jacks. In the tank jacking system , the tank shells are erected in reverse sequence i.e. the top shell and roof being erected first and followed by next shells. For tank construction, the jacking units are erected inside the tank along the tank shell periphery. For tank maintenance, tank repairs, the jacks are to be positioned outside the tank on special supports The jacks are connected to the special cleats welded to the tank shell The hydraulic power pack distributes hydraulic oil to all the jacks through manifold. The jacks climb on the vertical trestle in a uniform stroke of @100mm The jacking units hold the trestle rod firmly by 2 sets of fail safe grip mechanism (Jack teeth) provided on the jacks. After full cycle, the jacks are ready for the next lift. This process is repeated number of times till the required height is reached.
