It is the 2nd last channel in the distribution channel. It act like an intermediate between the manufacturer and the consumers. It provide 3 V’s to the customers that is VALUE VARIETY VOLUME FORMATS OF RETAIL MARKET : FORMATS OF RETAIL MARKET MALLS (60,000 TO 7,00,000 sq feet) Convenience Stores (400-2,000 sq. feet) Department Stores (OVER 30,000 sq feet) Specialty Stores (planet M, times music, cat moss, etc) CURRENT SCENARIO : CURRENT SCENARIO It is the most booming sector in Indian Economy after IT sector. It contribute 10% of the G.D.P and estimated to show 20% annual growth. The current growth rate is to be estimated 8.5% and only 3% of the entire retailing business is in the Organized sector.
