It also correlates with the sound of discipline and efficient classroom organization and instruction. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT : CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT REFERS TO PHYSICAL MAINTENANCE OF THE CLASS ROOM HOW MUCH COMPATIBLE IT SHOULD BE TO – THE AGE GROUP -- THE SUBJECT ???????????? ------------------- --------------------------------------------- ------------- VALUES INCULCATIONS. Slide 4: What are the issues? Uncivil student behaviours Not paying attention Acting bored Paying more attention to irrelevant subjects Holding distracting conversations, disapproving groans Verbal and physical disrespect to peer groups that make the class management less effective. Slide 5: Efforts by the teacher- a few solutions!- Make class more active a friendly/individual touch grow confidence remind some of the achivements make feel more responsible INCENTIVES : INCENTIVES Teacher SHOULD offer incentives, negotiate contracts, calls attention to a reinforce desirable behaviour SPEND more time with slow achievers ‘Teacher in pocession is the most precious pocession for a student, they even dream and live with them’ Don’t forget to---------- : Don’t forget to---------- Document Responces CCE Brophy (1983) states there are 3 general principles for good classroom management : Brophy (1983) states there are 3 general principles for good classroom management Willingness of the teacher to accept responsibility for classroom control Long-term, solution-oriented approaches to problems (rather than short-term, desist/ control responses Check to see if symptomatic behavior is caused by underlying personal problems (impulsivity, lack of awareness, home problems, etc.) Slide 9: Donot post rules with------ don’ts Shoot a specific example of assertive behaviour that would demonstrate each rule Better to discuss rules and not impose Allow them to decide rules – ask them to monitor Firmness to Rules For what to be awarded? : For what to be awarded?
