In this short video you will learn: What is the Holiday Giving Program? Who does it help? What are your volunteering responsibilities? Thank you for giving your time to be a part of JSSA’s Holiday Basket Program !

Together, JSSA and B’nai B’rith are leading this community-wide effort to ensure our neighbors have the items they need and want to observe Passover with dignity. :

On Sunday, April 17, community members will come together to deliver 500 holiday baskets filled with kosher for Passover items to families and individuals. :

On Sunday, April 17, community members will come together to deliver 500 holiday baskets filled with kosher for Passover items to families and individuals. The Holiday Giving Program relies on yearly donations. With the help of community members, local synagogues, groups, and organizations, you help sustain this program.

The baskets you deliver help individuals and families who participate in JSSA services feel remembered by the Jewish community at Passover.:

JSSA serves people throughout the life span – children and teens, adults, and seniors. As a social service agency, we provide help for people at times of challenge and transition. Sometimes, participants in JSSA services have financial need. Sometimes, people come to us because they have experienced a loss and need support. You will deliver baskets to apartments, townhomes, single-family homes – some that may look just like your own.

As a representative of the Holiday Giving Program, you MUST adhere to JSSA’s HIPAA policy, required by law, of protecting the privacy and confidentiality of those we serve.:

On delivery day, when you get your list of who you will visit, if you know someone on your list, call Diane (301-335-2117) or your synagogue coordinator and you can switch recipients. (This contact information will be provided in your packet):

If you recognize a recipient (before or after delivery), please keep it to yourself. Protect the client’s privacy by keeping names and addresses private. Do not discuss, talk, tell, tweet, write, post, share, etc. anything you see or hear about a recipient to anyone!:

Please make sure to SIGN the Basket Delivery Volunteer sign in sheet provided by your group leader or at the pick up site when you pick up your bags.
