Colossians 2:8 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men , according to the basic principles of the world , and not according to Christ. Mark 7:9,13 9 He said to them, "All too well you reject the commandment of God , that you may keep your tradition . 13 …making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down .

Slide10:

Is all tradition is bad? No. But clearly in the above two Scriptures, both Paul and Jesus are suggesting that there are definitely some tradition that IS bad. Other words for Tradition in context of above verses: -It ’ s how we have always done it. -Everybody else does it. -Denominational “ what we believe ” .

Slide11:

Slide12:

When you judge others for doing something differently than how you do it, you are setting aside the Commandment to Love Your Neighbour and putting your Tradition or Your Way Of Doing Things above Gods ways. Some commands are very specific like Do Not Murder, Do Not Commit Adultery, Do Not Steal.

Slide13:

ANOTHER QUIZ QUESTION Bible says Do Not Judge?

Slide14:

Romans 2:1-3 1 Therefore you are inexcusable , O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself ; for you who judge practice the same things. 2 But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. 3 And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same , that you will escape the judgment of God? Practice what you preach!

Slide15:

Matthew 7:1-5 1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you . [If you judge unrighteously, you will be judged as unrighteous.] 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye , and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye .

Slide16:

1 Corinthians 2:15 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things , yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside [a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner] ? 13 But those who are outside God judges . Therefore "PUT AWAY FROM YOURSELVES THE EVIL PERSON [the so-called brother inside the church] ."

Slide17:

H1835 דּן dân dawn From H1777 ; judge ; Dan , one of the sons of Jacob; also the tribe descended from him, and its territory; likewise a place in Palestine colonized by them: - Dan. Nnd% ac: Rule co: Ruler ab: Quarrel: The pictograph d is a picture of a door. The n is a picture of a seed representing the idea of life. Combined these pictures mean " the door of life ". The ancient Hebrew concept of a "judge" is one who restores life . The goal of one that rules or judges is to bring a pleasant and righteous life to the people. This can also mean a deliverer as one whom restores life to his people.

Slide18:

Practice what you preach, or there is no excuse for you, and no apology will be accepted! Judgement is supposed to RESTORE LIFE. So what ’ s your motivation: To prove you were right? To teach them how terrible a person they are? To show how much more righteous you are than them? Before you judge, ask yourself “ LORD what are You trying to show me? What log is in my eye that I do not see? ”
