OBJECTIVE: : 

OBJECTIVE: At he end of the lesson, the students should be able to solve and demonstrate understanding of linear inequalities in one variable unknown and to graph an inequality in a number line.

EXAMPLE #1: : 

EXAMPLE #1: 1.Solve the inequality: x + 8 > 5 solution: X + 8 > 5 Adding -8 to both sides of the inequality. x + 8 + (-8) > 5 + (-8) X + 0 > 5 – 8 X > -3

CHECK : : 

CHECK : The value of X > -3 : X + 8 > 5 -3 + 8 > 5 5 > 5 * IT IS FALSE.

Solve for the value of x: : 

Solve for the value of x: 5x = 15 1/5 ( 5x ) = ( 15 ) 1/5 5/5 X = 15/5 X = 3

CHECK : The value of x = 3 : 5x + 3 = 18 5(3) + 3 = 18 15 + 3 = 18 18 = 18 * It is true.
