Under the guidance of Mayo Clinic’s pediatric neurologist - Elaine Wirrell, M.D., Troy Irvine and Kristine Irvine experienced a miracle. They took their son, Max off all his epilepsy medications and put him on the ketogenic diet. Soon, he started to walk and talk again like before, and did not have another seizure ever. After the ketogenic diet worked wonders for Max, he got hugely popular as a ‘Keto Kid’.

When Troy and his wife, Kristine found out that their son had epilepsy In 2008, the residents of Minnesota, Troy Irvine and his wife, Kristine found out that their son, Max has epilepsy. He had hundreds of seizures a day, couldn’t walk, talk or chew his food. One of the epilepsy specialists they consulted told them that their son would become mentally incompetent from his seizures.

Troy Irvine and His Wife Set up a Mentoring Program Called, Max’s Miracle’ Troy Irvine and wife wanted to support families in similar situation like theirs. So, with the help of Mayo Clinic doctors and dietitians and the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota, they set up a mentoring program for families considering the ketogenic diet as treatment. The mentoring program was named “Max’s Miracle.”
