What does God’s Word say about pride?
To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. (Proverbs 8:13 NIV)
When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. (Proverbs 11:2)
In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, But the lips of the wise will preserve them. (Proverbs 14:3)
For all that is in the world——the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life——is not of the Father but is of the world. (1 John 2:16)
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6)

Pride: the absence of humility is the root of every sin and evil. Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger.

Do we really all need this humility?
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14

There can be no relationship with God if there is pride in ourselves.
Pride has permeated our lives. It is a spiritual disease from Satan that we must overcome. No wonder we find it is so difficult.
