Warwick Manufacturing Group Founded in 1980 by Kumar Bhattacharyya within Warwick University to develop collaboration between the education and research sectors and industry. As a reward for his outstanding work in this regard, he became, in 2004, ‘Lord Bhattacharyya’.

WMG OVERSEAS CENTRES WMG has overseas centres in: Hong Kong China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and at: Eastern Mediterranean University, Northern Cyprus.

THE ROLE OF OVERSEAS CENTRES Is to provide regional delivery of the WMG programmes. There is no distinction between centres. All WMG students: Are registered as Warwick WMG students Are awarded WMG degrees on successful completion of program Receive the same degree Can attend the Warwick University graduation ceremony in the UK

Which WMG programmes are available at EMU? :

Which WMG programmes are available at EMU? MSc in Engineering Business Management MSc in Supply Chain and Logistics Management EMU Pre-masters Certificate (for students to upgrade their language and study skills before entering the WMG programme)

Who can apply?:

Who can apply? You will have an undergraduate degree in engineering, information technology, business or other scientific discipline. Other disciplines may also be considered if you have a proven adequate level of numeracy and / or relevant work experience. You should have a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or second class honours degree.

Is there an English language requirement? :

Is there an English language requirement? Warwick University set an official IELTS entry threshold of 6.5, or TOEFL IBT equivalent (92). Applicants from non-English speaking countries should have a minimum of 6.0 on IELTS, and may be conditionally accepted on condition that they are able to supply a 6.5 score during the programme.

English Language Support Programme:

English Language Support Programme Since the course demands a lot of writing and participants are expected to contribute actively, EMU provides ongoing language and study skills sessions for all WMG students. There is no additional charge for this support.

How long does the WMG MSC Programme take to complete? :

How long does the WMG MSC Programme take to complete? The full MSC programme comprises nine modules and a project, and it is possible to complete it in one year .

Is this a ‘joint programme?’ :

Is this a ‘joint programme?’ No, the programme is delivered entirely by Warwick University WMG. EMU does however offer exemptions on its own programmes for students who have completed WMG degrees; some students take advantage of this to complete two master’s degrees within a 24-30 month period.

How is the course delivered and who by?:

How is the course delivered and who by? Each of the 9 modules comprises one week of intensive full-day instruction to be followed by a 5000 word assignment. The project is approximately 20,000 words. and counts for 50% of the final MSc grade The modules are delivered jointly by WMG staff who come to EMU for the intensive week along with specialists at EMU. You will also have a project and course supervisor at EMU.

What are the modules? Both the E.B.M and S.C.L.M. programmes have the same modules; the major difference between the two programmes is in the project area you select. The current modules are: Logistics and Operations Management Supply Chain and Logistics Management Product Design and Development Management Quality Management and Techniques Procurement and Inventory Management Operations Strategy for Industry Financial Analysis and Controls Systems Project Planning Control and Management Organizations, People and Performance

Is there an attendance requirement? :

Is there an attendance requirement? WMG maintains very high standards in this regard. Full attendance is required and expected.

Is it possible to attend part of the programme? Yes. Successful completion of 6 modules entitles you to the WMG Postgraduate Diploma. Successful completion of 3 modules entitles you to the WMG Postgraduate Certificate. Successful completion of individual modules can also be certified.

When can we enrol for the programme? Thanks to the unique, modular structure of the programme, you can register and commence your studies at any time during the academic year.

How are the assignments and projects marked and supervised? :

How are the assignments and projects marked and supervised? Assignments are submitted online to the module tutor. For your project you will have an appointed supervisor at EMU.

Can we take modules at other WMG Centres? :

Can we take modules at other WMG Centres? As part of your course fee you are entitled to take two modules in the UK or other WMG Centre.

What documents do we need to apply? i) A formal one page ‘Statement of Intention’, describing: why you want to take the course you are applying for; how you hope to benefit, and any relevant background academic or work experience. ii) Two academic references iii) A copy of your first degree certificate and transcripts, and any relevant postgraduate qualifications. iv) Proof of English language competence – i.e. IELTS / TOEFL (not required from EMU graduates, or students from English-speaking countries, such as Nigeria)

Who is the EMU WMG Pre-Masters Certificate Programme for? :

Who is the EMU WMG Pre-Masters Certificate Programme for? For students who are not yet ready or qualified to start the WMG Master’s Programme, EMU offers a one semester-16 week Pre-Masters Certificate; the Certificate is also suitable for students wishing to proceed to an MBA or other programme of postgraduate study in an English medium university. Students entering the programme should have a minimum IELTS score of 5.0

Can we enter the programme with less than 5.0 on IELTS? If you have less than 5.0 on IELTS, you can take a semester of intensive English in EMU’s School of Foreign Languages, and then proceed to the certificate course

Are there any scholarships? A limited number of tuition reductions, up to a maximum of 1000 UK pounds may be awarded on a strictly merit-based system based on prior academic success and / or relevant professional achievements.
