Sponsored by the US State Department for high school students wanting a foreign language experience. The program asks that the student be willing to represent the US while abroad on their trip. Expenses for the program are covered by the State Department. Your trip begins & ends in Washington, D.C. National Security Language Initiative for YouthPowerPoint Presentation: Application Process Online Application Process http://www.nsliforyouth.org/ American citizens between 15-18.5 yrs. of age at start of program with at least a 2.5 GPA Programs for the school year or just for the summer.PowerPoint Presentation: The Process of Applying Fill out the online application Letter of Recommendation . Consider asking a teacher who can speak about your ability to learn a foreign language. Use a calendar and keep track of your due dates . If you make it through the initial selection round, you will be invited to an interview held in San Francisco. Your parent(s) or guardian(s) will be interviewed too.
