Introduction to Health Occupations : 

Introduction to Health Occupations To introduce basic skills common to all health fields. To participate in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). To certify the students in American Red Cross Community CPR, First Aid and Safety, and AED. Designed for 9th & 10th grade males and females. You will explore a health career of your choice.

Health/Nursing Assistant I : 

Health/Nursing Assistant I Designed for 10th & 11th grade males and females. To introduce the theory for the health/nursing assistant program. To demonstrate personal health care and nursing skills. To explore employment opportunities.

Health/Nursing Assistant II : 

Health/Nursing Assistant II Designed for 11th and 12th grade males and females. It is a two credit first and second block class. All theory and skills are completed prior to clinical training. Approximately 90 hours of clinical experience will be obtained at East Pavilion Nursing Home, Southampton Memorial Hospital, The Village At Woods Edge, S P Morton Elementary School, The Children’s Center, and Family Practice Associates Inc. At the completion of the course students will take the National Nurse Aide exam to become certified as a CNA.

HOSA!! : 

HOSA!! Health Occupations Students of America! All students can be members even if you don’t take the class!! There are over 60 competitive events at the Spring VA HOSA Leadership Conference. If a student Places 1st – 3rd place they are able to compete at the National Leadership HOSA Conference.
