Scene 1: Pages 45-46 In this scene, Kerri tries to flirt with Paul. He is so shocked that a girl would talk to him that he simply stares at her. Eventually, she walks away, and Paul feels embarrassed and ashamed. His self-esteem is very low. The background of the third box reveals his low self-esteem and unhappiness because it is blue and shows raindrops. This color and pattern together stand for Paul’s sadness. Example
