Premium member Presentation Transcript India’s Water Crisis: India’s Water Crisis By: Dominique & Sara The Water Crisis: The Water Crisis India is predicted to run dry in 2020 because they mismanage the water resources.Slide3: 3.575 million people die each year from water related diseases. Slide4: Every 15 seconds, a child dies from a water related disease. Slide5: India’s water crisis is man-made. The main cause is pollution.Slide6: 43% of water related deaths are due to diarrhea. Slide7: Without food a person can live for weeks, but without water you can only last a few days! Slide8: A big result is on rainfall patterns, but how it will effect India is not certain.Slide9: Severe water shortage had already led to a growing number of conflicts across the country, and 90% is India’s territory!Slide10: Hand washing is low so diseases spread easily!Slide11: People immigrate and population grows in India, so some people cannot find enough water and eventually die. Slide12: India has a population of about 1.2 billion, 128 million people have no water, and 839 million have no sanitation.Slide13: People cannot find drinking water so they drink dirty water and get a water-related disease.Slide14: This crisis causes: food prices to raise, a sharp decline in agriculture production, and India’s industrial sector.Slide15: Most water sources are contaminated by sewage for agriculture runoff.Slide16: India will NOT be largely effected if they start taking action immediately….
