Part I – Reading If you could choose to become any animal, what animal would you choose and why? My Choice If I could choose to become any animal, I would choose to become a sparrow. I think this may come as a surprise to many people, but I have a couple of reasons for my answer. First, if I could turn into a sparrow, I would be able to fly. Additionally, unlike a larger bird, such as an eagle, I would not stand out too much, and could blend in easily in almost any environment. For me, the biggest benefit of being able to fly would be simply to feel the thrill of floating through the air. I would love to soar through the sky, fly through the trees, and as a sparrow, I could even fly easily in smaller places, including my own home. Similar to what others probably think, I think flying as an eagle might be more fun. However, as a sparrow, I could easily hide in a tree, on a trail, or on a busy city street and I don't think anyone would notice me. As a sparrow, though I couldn't carry as much of a load as some larger birds, and there may be more of a threat of danger, but I don't think we have to strain the imagination too much to see the benefit of being able to become a small bird. It would be amazingly fun to fly, and it would be very easy to hide almost anywhere.
