GMAT Overlapping Sets Questions ? Folks, There are a good number of questions of overlapping sets at GMAT quantitative section. Overlapping sets further have two types of questions at GMAT quantitative section one which has Venn diagram which further has two types, two category Venn diagram, and three categories Venn diagram and others tabular method questions where most of the tabular methods questions will be a 2×2 matrix. It is very important that one should clearly understand the language of the question to make the right interpretation as most of these questions will be tricky in their language.

Hence, understanding them right is very important.  Also first the candidate needs to identify as to whether the question belongs to either Venn diagram or tabular method. The best way to identify that is if every category in the question mentioned has an overlap with every other category then it often belongs to a tabular method. Also know: GMAT Trainer in Delhi For instance,  if the question is talking about in a hotel there are rooms which are rented and non rented and some are air-conditioned and some are not then it is a pure question of tabular method. After identifying the category it belongs to it is very important to fill in the right data in the table or Venn diagram as the GMAT exam often tricks in terms of percentage. For instance, if the question says, ‘ of the rooms which are conditioned 30 % are rented then 30 % of air-conditioned rooms should be considered instead of taking 30 % of total rooms. So one should do enough practice of similar questions based on this topic and understand well various kinds of tricks and formulae to solve these questions fast.
