FACTS 30% of people in the US admit to texting and driving (63% of this sample were under 30 years of age) 3,000; # of DEATHS a year due to distracted driving (includes texting) 4.6; # of seconds your eyes leave the road for the average text – you can travel the distance of an entire football field if you were going 55mph 39/50; # of states who have banned texting and driving 23; # of times you are more likely to get in an accident if texting and driving
