It has got its affiliation with the Social Welfare Council and NGO federation. Since its inception, Alternative has encouraged Nepalese youth to become social entrepreneurs and contribute to the society rather than just earning profit and has been trying to create a generation of youth change endeavors with the intention of making self dependent, productive, skilled and also to create new possibilities so that they could utilize their aggressive and energetic power in their own country. Working for rural youth since 2006 : Working for rural youth since 2006 The major foundation of youth lives in rural areas comprising 83% out of which 56.5% are literate and more than 40% are unemployed. The present context of Nepalese rural youth is leading to brain drain, frustration, unemployment and underemployment. So, the major question remains who are responsible for the employment, literacy and safe future of these rural youth who are to contribute for the Nepalese development. Can we leave them uncared for? Vision : Vision Alternatives believes that youth as the change maker, will lead the constructive social development for building a prosperous and equitable society. Mission : Mission Consolidating youth for prosperous development through entrepreneurship Objectives : Objectives To find new possibilities and practices for youth in developing entrepreneurial, social and cultural integration to meet the Millennium Development Goals.
