The Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Sheet Technology

Slide 2:

The cold rolled steel sheet is a technology used for transforming carbon steel into a standard grade sheet which can be used for varied applications.

Slide 3:

This alloy is typically used for commercial purposes as it is an economical material which ensures quality and longevity. The stainless steel used in making these sheets offers moderate strength and toughness.

Slide 4:

The weldability like spot, projection, butt and fusion and brazeability of the stainless steel sheet is excellent. The  Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Sheet  as a standard grade is used in many common, low-stress applications.

Slide 5:

It has a very good surface finish that is far superior to hot rolled stainless steel sheet. The applications for this sheet includes extruded, cold headed, cold upset, and cold pressed parts and forms.

Slide 6:

What Is Stainless Steel Rolling? Rolling is a technology where metals or alloys are rolled, it is put through a series of heavy rollers. Using this process, the thickness of the material is reduced and gets a definitive shape. So rolling steel enables sheet metal steel to be produced for a variety of industrial purposes, like rolling shapes for standard structural sections or special custom profiles.

Slide 7:

Highlighting Properties Of Cold Rolling Technology Smoother finish Metal hardness is increased Increased strength of up to 20 percent Reduces grain size of the metal Higher quality finish Higher precision than hot rolled products Smaller production batches Efficient manufacturing process

Slide 8:

What Is Cold Rolling Technology? Cold rolling technology refers to a process where stainless steel metals are rolled at room temperature rather than being heated to 1100 degrees Celsius.  Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Sheet  is rolled at room temperature by passing it through rollers which enables shaping.

Slide 9:

The steel or stainless steel must be passed through the rollers several times to obtain the level of thickness or shape required for the application. It takes longer than the hot rolling process but Cold rolling is one of the best technologies for making high-end products.

Slide 10:

The manufacturers can use thermal treatment during the process, it helps in producing flat sheets of metal, coiled products or sections. The raw material in the process is passed through rollers below its recrystallization temperature of the relevant type of steel or stainless steel. In this technology, crystalline structure is deformed and the grain size is reduced resulting in increased strengthening.

Slide 11:

Cold Rolled Material Applications Cold rolled sheets are used in a varied range of applications, these have smooth surface which is applicable in varied needs. The increased yield of the material is an additional advantage which has standard austenitic stainless steels like 304L and 316L. Cold forming is used for applications like refrigerator, power distributing boards and drums, automobile roof and panels, fenders and roof panels.

Slide 12:

Cold forming makes the surface finish of stainless steel more noble and appealing. The Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Sheet is preferred when a final high-end finish like mirror polish is added as the polishing process turns out to be much easier and less expensive. It allows us to source of products from leading mills and carries over great savings to our valued clients.
