Slide 2:WELCOME!
This project aims to connect classrooms all around the world and get children communicating in their own language as well as one they are learning.
Children ask and answer the question "What are you eating for lunch today?" (or a variation eg: What's in your lunch today?) in their first language and then their second language.
Hopefully the classes involved in the project will be able to video conference with each other using Skype.
Slide 3:On the following slides you will see pictures of lunches from all over the world.
Some questions that you could talk about with your students to introduce them to the idea of the project are:
Which lunches are similar to yours? Why?
Which lunches are different to yours? What are the differences?
What do these pictures tell you about:
Where the lunches are eaten? (eg. outside or in canteen area?)
Where they have been prepared? (eg. at home or at school?
What does the lunch tell us about the day of the student who eats it? (eg. timetable or routine etc)
Slide 13:Now that you’ve had a talk about different lunches and you’ve decided you want to get involved in the Lunch Box Project, make sure you visit the wiki, create your own page and start by adding an introduction video of your class.
The project is very flexible and your suggestions for further project activities and tasks will be warmly welcomed!
