An arsonist was burning down churches in Redlands, CA. To protect people from getting hurt, a solid wood fence was constructed around the burnt structures. Churches sold squares of fence to earn money to rebuild. I bought a square for Steve and he painted the praying hands which have always touched my soul. :

My Sister Doris was 2 ½ years older than me. We were close growing up and did everything together. Our best play time as children on the farm was in our basement. We made a playhouse by pinning gunny sacks together. Doris said it was more fund to tear it down and then rebuild it. She didn’t know it but she was just getting practice for her later years. She and her husband, Bill, remodeled homes when they retired. Thank you for all the wonderful memories Doris, Your loving sister Helen.
