THE DECLINE OF MARRIAGE:THE DECLINE OF MARRIAGE Divorce
2.3 million marriages and 1.2 million divorces a year
50% of 1st, 60% of 2nd and 73% of 3rd marriages end in divorce Single-parent families
1/3 of children are born to mothers who are not married.
Will increase to 40% by 2012. A 300% increase over last 40 years. Marriage
From 1980 to 2003, the percentage of married adults decreased from 61% to 47%. Cohabitation
The rate of unmarried couples living together increased twelve fold in four decades.
OUR GOAL:OUR GOAL To assist couples in understanding and living out of God’s plan for marriage.
Build a positive marriage community in the parish.
Implement a ministry that will offer continuing education and enrichment after the 'I Do'.
Encourage couples to become an integral part in the life of the parish.

It is a monthly gathering of couples to:
Assist them in becoming a 'true' domestic church
Provide tools and information to help them live God’s plan for the Sacrament of Marriage
Create a vibrant and positive community of married couples. THE MARRIAGE GROUP
