Goals for the Programs:

Goals for the Programs Provide maturing LHH volunteers opportunities for practicing leadership and personal responsibility within the context of community service

Goals for the Programs Junior Program Educate and train participants in leadership, basic LHH knowledge, and activity co-leading best practices Create opportunities for participants to continue conversations about volunteering and community engagement. Teen Program Educate and train participants in management, public speaking, leadership, and nonprofit fundraising . Train participants as Activity Leads allowing them to practice leadership.

Junior Program For graduating 6 th through 8 th graders Activity Co-Lead Extension & Reflection Activities Teen Program For graduating 9 th through 12 th graders Activity Leads Complete a fundraising project Both Programs are summer long experiences that offer some flexibility

Day 2 - Orientation June 7th Half Day Learn LHH basics Team builders How to be a great co-lead

Day 3, 4, & 5- Teen Lead Training June 8,9 & 10:

Day 3, 4, & 5 - Teen Lead Training June 8,9 & 10 Half Days Team Builders Activity Lead & Leadership Training Non-profit Fundraising Training

Optional CPR & First Aid Certification Training:

Optional CPR & First Aid Certification Training

Co-Leading Activities:

Co-Leading Activities Junior Program Use skills from our team builder and orientation days to assist our experienced leads at ongoing activities. Help with check-in & check-out Help facilitate conversations Take photos Prep activity supplies And more! Teen Lead Program Learning to become leads This is a great time to ask questions and get helpful hints! If you’re nervous about something, this is a great time to try! You will need to practice supplies pick-up & drop-off at least one time before leading solo.

Lead Activities Solo:

Lead Activities Solo Teens will lead at least 3 service activities Responsible for supply pick up & drop off Parents attend as backup Eligible to continue

Extension Activity:

Extension Activity Lead a volunteer project for family and friends Host a supplies drive or a fundraiser for a local organization Make something to present and share your experience Come up with your own project Work with a friend or on your own

Team Huddles:

Team Huddles Must attend 4 of 5 team huddles Reflect on experience at activities Brainstorm and plan fundraising activity Continue Leadership Training

Fundraising Activity:

Fundraising Activity Led by teens Benefits the Foundation Communities School Supply Drive Plan during Team Huddles Will be complete by July 22

Volunteer Appreciation Party:

Volunteer Appreciation Party Teens will help support the event by helping out during the event (face-painting, games, set-up, clean-up etc.) We also want to recognize you!

Parent Involvement:

Parent Involvement Junior Program Be willing to help with transportation to all activities Help with extension activity as needed Give us feedback about the program Teen Program Be willing to help with transportation to all activities Includes supply pick up & drop off Attend Parent Training Be present while teen leads solo Give us feedback about the program
