Introduction : 

Introduction Motivate students to generate thinking and encourage development of ideas Develop fundamental ability for writing essay Enhance students’ range of vocabulary that is fundamental and important for English learners of other language by searching and selecting proper vocabulary suited for sentences

Procedure of strategy : 

Procedure of strategy Give topic that will require the students to provide the information, ideas and opinion. First, students are asked to give the facts and information about the topic. Second, students are asked to give their own ideas and opinions. Make pairs of sentences, one opinion for one fact.

Sample practice : 

Sample practice ? Topic sentence: Wild animal zoo ? List of facts and opinions: F: There are a variety of wild animals, such as ….. F: There is Wild animal zoo in San Diego. O: People should let wild animals live in natural surroundings. O: Wild animals should be looked after in the zoo.

Review of the strategy : 

Review of the strategy By doing this activity students can develop their own thinking and distinguish facts, information from ideas and opinions. This can be fundamental skills for writing essay. Teachers can give feedbacks on students’ list of sentences in terms of whether sentences are appropriately categorized into two part, fact and opinion. After making a list of sentences of facts and opinions students can write an essay using on their sentences and organizing them into essay.

Practice of the strategy : 

Practice of the strategy ? Give the topic of essay to students. ? Ask students to write one factual sentence and one sentence of their thought about that fact. ? By doing this several times and organizing the sentences students can make a complete essay. ? Teacher should tell students whether their sentences are appropriately stated.
