Research Abstract : 

Research Abstract This project is to alert people of all the different places where animal abuse occurs. Animal abuse doesn’t just occur in people’s homes. It is also to let people know the different reasons why people abuse animals.

How is Animal Abuse Linked to Domestic Abuse? Children who are abused tend to abuse animals Children who abuse animals are more likely to then commit other crimes (Casady) 63% of households that have abuse in them own a pet 71% of domestic violence victims said that their pet was abused as well 7% of animal cruelty cases involved a person with a history of domestic violence (The Humane Society of the United States)

Why do People Abuse Animals? : 

Why do People Abuse Animals? They do it accidentally They do it on purpose, but only for a short amount of time They enjoy abusing animals and it makes them feel powerful (ASPCA) http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/view/36986

Enjoyment and Power :

Which Animals are most Commonly Abused? : 

Which Animals are most Commonly Abused? Dogs are the most commonly abused animal In 2007, 64.5% of the animals abused were dogs Only 18% were cats 25% of the dogs abused were pit bulls Horses, cows, and pigs are often neglected (The Humane Society of the United States)
