Introduction :Introduction People use Office in many different ways, depending on their preferences and goals. That's why Mac OS X universal access features can be so useful. Features such as Text to Speech, zoom, and keyboard shortcuts provide you the flexibility to see, hear, and control MS Office applications in the ways that work best for you.

Objectives :Objectives After you complete this section, you'll be able to: Listen to selected text in a Word document. Use a keyboard shortcut to listen to selected text in any MS Office application. Speak to your computer to have it perform a common task. Find and change a Mac OS X keyboard shortcut. Create a custom Office keyboard shortcut.


MS Word :MS Word Listen to selected text in a Word document Word can read text aloud from any document. You simply choose the text that you want to hear, and then use the Speech toolbar to hear it. Display the Speech toolbar and then listen to it from a Word document.


Select Text :Select Text Tip: To select the whole document, click Edit > Select All.

Customize Your Applicatons :Customize Your Applicatons Listen to any selected text Your computer can read text aloud in any Office application. When you are using the Mac OS X Text to Speech feature, you select the text that you want to hear and then use a keyboard shortcut. Let's create a keyboard shortcut for the Text to Speech feature and then have your computer read some selected text.
