What is Stress? :What is Stress? Any activity that creates the need to release adrenaline and cortisol into the blood stream.
Two types of stress :Two types of stress Chronic- When you’ve been stressed for so long the body actually begins to harm itself
Acute- Normal everday stress
Cortisol :Cortisol Released by the Hypothalamus
Corticotropine releasin ghormone/Cortisol
Functions-
Increases blood flow to the heart and brain
Stimulates the release of Adrenaline from pituitary gland.
It has multiple effects and jobs in the body
Jobs of Cortisol :Jobs of Cortisol Invokes the Fight or flight response
When the brain perceives a threat it activates the so called “alarm system”
Increases supply of blood glucose to create more energy.
Depresses all unnecessary systems.
Stimulates the immune system in case of injury.
Effects of stress on the Cardiovascular system :Effects of stress on the Cardiovascular system Stress can cause your arteries to start artherosclerosis(hardening of the arteries.
Also increases risk of cardiac arrest
Can increase chances of type 2 diabetes.
Increases blood pressure.
Effects of stress on the immune system :Effects of stress on the immune system Increases trafficking of white blood cells throughout the body.
Inhibits some immunities
If the stress becomes chronic then they might become immune impaired not good at all.
Effects of stress on the brain :Effects of stress on the brain Memory loss
Causes the fight or flight response
Also can make you do a desires behaviors habit Smoking, Drinking, binge eating etc.
Can also make feel like you experienced more than you really did.
Not all stress is bad stress :Not all stress is bad stress “It is also the spice of life, for any emotion, any activity causes stress.”

Some stress allows you top do things you never thought capable.
Mom lifts car off of baby for instance this is due to stress.
It can increase your ability to effectively execute a certain task.
