1ST PART:

1 ST PART “I” = Rotary Commitment

"Commitment":

" Commitment " A " Commitment " to attendance is required . Since the classification system restricts the number of members in a vocation, a member who does not attend is preventing another person in the same profession from joining. If a member misses four meetings in a row they have effectively resigned their membership and must relinquish the "loan" of the classification. Members can "make-up" meetings within six days before or after their regular meeting by visiting another Rotary club anywhere in the world.

“I” as Rotary Commitment:

“I” as Rotary Commitment Annual dues (RI-RC-D.) Attendance / Make up Service Involvement: club/district/Int Sponsor a new Member Respect of Rotary Policies

Slide 19:

What makes Rotary different from other "Clubs“?

Is "Classification Principle":

Is " Classification Principle " The Rotary allows only a specific number of individual members in any vocation to belong to an individual club, thereby promoting a broad base of ideas and respect for each vocation.

Is about people:

Is about people People who give and people who need. Rotary is made up of nearly 1.3 million business, professional, community men and women in leadership positions . They are people that make decisions and get things done. A true Rotarian is a unique individual. Some have called these individuals the "movers and shakers" in their community.

Is "Service Above Self":

Is " Service Above Self " Rotary is a service organization, not a "leads" group. -The weekly meetings provide fellowship, guest speakers, and a place for members to share ideas. While Rotarians frequently do business with other -Rotarians from a "network" basis, you will not see Rotarians passing out their business cards at a Rotary meeting or openly promoting their business. -Clubs implement projects needed by communities

Is world wide programs:

Is world wide programs Rotary International provides millions of dollars in funding for student exchange programs, humanitarian projects, health issues, and cultural exchange. These monies come from the support and activities of the millions of Rotary club members and Rotary supporters around the world. Rotary's flagship public health project, PolioPlus , aims to immunize children against the poliovirus and eventually eradicate polio from the world. Rotary received the William and Melinda Gates Foundation Award for Global Health for its major and lasting efforts to improve public health worldwide. In 1985, Rotary club members worldwide vowed to eradicate polio. Since then, Rotary has committed more than US$1 billion and countless hours of volunteer work to help immunize an estimated two billion children throughout the world . This commitment to end polio represents the largest private-sector support of a global health initiative to date.

EGO:

EGO If one can suspend the ego in a team it is always an amazing benefit to the team. Very difficult to do, but with amazing results when achieved: so: Apply your ego to the success of your team or: Leave your ego at home! For a team to work, for a team to be a success, you can't have someone who thinks of himself first.
