Introduction:

Introduction Security is a prime concern in our day-today life. An access control forms a vital link in a security chain. This is Microcontroller based project as a security barrier and can be utilized as door lock . An access control system that allows only authorized persons to access a restricted area .

Existing System:

Existing System Passage and entry lockset. Mortise lockset are mostly used in contemporary times. Pad lock systems were used in olden days.

Disadvantages of Existing system:

Disadvantages of Existing system Manual locks are prone to internal damage such as corrosion, or any other Atmospheric conditions. These locks can be unlocked easily, increasing the threat of burglary. Manual locks are difficult to handle especially in case of lockers used in banks it has two to three keys, even if one is missing door can’t be unlocked.

Proposed System:

Proposed System The proposed system consists of a modern digitalized keypad based door locking system. It overcomes all the drawbacks of a manual door lock systems. The correct code must be entered in order for the lock to deactivate. It is highly secure and no manipulations can be made to unlock the door. Cost effective than the existing system.

Requirements Hardware components: A MICROCONTROLLER AT89S51 4 x 3 KEYPAD LIQUID CRYSTAL DIPLAY (LCD) LIGHT EMITTING DIODES (LED) DC MOTOR L293D ISP PROGRAMMER BUZZER

Working:

Working This system operates on the principle of Microcontroller interfacing, A keypad interfaced to microcontroller is used to enter password. A LCD is used to display status and the motor is interfaced to microcontroller via Motor driver The DC Motor is rotated forward or backward depending on authenticity of entered password. A Buzzer is also interfaced to microcontroller which alters the system.

Case 1 But after 10 seconds the motor closes the door and LCD displays door locked.

Case 2 When wrong password is entered.

Conclusion:

Conclusion This electronic door lock is evidently appropriate for those who feel they have had enough of the hassles of dealing with losing or forgetting keys, duplicating keys, or even changing door locks. The electronic door lock definitely eliminates the need for conventional keys or key cards and is indeed the perfect solution to many homes, businesses, and hotels that lack a reliable and easy to use electronic security door lock. There are always changes one can make to potentially improve a design’s performance or marketability

Future Scope:

Future Scope We can interface GSM module which will send short message service if invalid attempt is made to open the lock. We can use Biometric parameters such as Retina and Fingerprint while unlocking the door which provides as an alternative to keypad making it more secure.

Tools Used Atmel Studio 8: Used for coding Proteus 7.7: Used for simulation.
